FLIR Announces New Rugged, Real-Time Chemical Threat Detector for Mobile Platforms

Today FLIR announced the Griffin G465 Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS) for chemical threat identification, the latest addition to the Griffin G400-Series GC/MS family. Designed for vehicle integration and MIL-STD 810G rugged specified, the Griffin G465 operates in mobile and forward deployed labs, recon vehicles, and other portable platforms with real-time survey mode for vapor, liquid, and solid threat identification.

With a new style of ‘heated’ sampling line, the Griffin G465 can perform vapor threat identification in the field within seconds. Like traditional, lab-based GC/MS systems, the Griffin G465 has an integrated standard liquid injector that accepts multiple interchangeable sampling tools. The system also features an integrated universal sampling port that provides continuous air monitoring capability and a quick connect fitting for downrange plug-and-play samplers.

The Griffin G465’s industry-leading chemical matching techniques produce high-confidence results and eliminate the need to interpret data in the field so field operators can make quick and better-informed decisions in complex field environments, ensuring the safety of both the operators and the public.
