FLIR Honors Law Enforcement During National Police Week

This week is National Police Week, a time to honor and remember those who have made great sacrifices to protect their communities. This week not only honors the fallen, but also those who are currently serving. These men and women put their lives on the line every day to make sure they are keeping others safe. While they are keeping others safe, FLIR wants to make sure these men and women are also staying safe while performing their duties. FLIR provides a wide range of tactical optics and CBRNE detectors to assist in that effort.

Thermal imaging gives police officers the ability to see in complete darkness, through camouflage or smoke and other environmental obstructions. Handheld tactical optics like the FLIR HS-Series or the LS gives officers an advantage when pursuing a suspect in the darkness of the night, and can also help finding evidence left at a scene.

Another critical tool is the Fido X2, FLIR’s latest handheld explosives trace detector. The Fido X2 utilizes TrueTrace™ technology, which allows the detection a wide range of chemicals that are used to create explosives. It does all of this in 10 seconds or less! This is an extraordinary and lifesaving tool to have on the job.

On July 21st FLIR Systems is hosting the Vision Awards to honor the very best in the use of airborne law enforcement EO/IR technology. Each year state and local agencies can submit video footage that is taken during any of their missions, that highlights the tactical use of EO/IR technology.

Please be sure to thank those and honor those who have served your community. Take a look at the the full range of technology for Law Enforcement.
